SEED:

A WIDE VARIETY OF SEED MIXTURES ARE AVAILABLE INCLUDING FINE RESIDENTIAL LAWN MIXES FOR MIXED SUN AND SHADE, FULL SUN AND DENSE SHADE.  SLOPE, PLOT AND WILDFLOWER MIXTURES ARE WIDELY USED.

 

FERTILIZER:

STANDARD STARTER FERTILIZER FOR NEW SEED APPLICATIONS ARE MOST COMMONLY USED, SUCH AS A 19-19-19 COMPOUND. 

 

HYDROMULCH:

A 70/30 WOOD AND PAPER FIBER HYDROMULCH IS RECOMMENDED FOR MOST APPLICATIONS.

THERE ARE OTHER PRODUCTS AVAILABLE FOR CERTAIN STATE REQUIREMENTS, SUCH AS "TACTIFIER" FOR ADDIITONAL SOIL STABILIZATION AND RETENTION.

 

HOW LONG BEFORE THE LAWN LOOKS GOOD?

DEPENDING ON WEATHER CONDITIONS AND WATERING, GERMINATION BEGINS IN 7 TO 14 DAYS.  THE FIRST MOWING IS AROUND 3 TO 4 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION.

 

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MULCH?

THE MULCH FIBERS WILL DECOMPOSE AND ADD NOURISHMENT TO THE SOIL.  UNLIKE HAND SEEDING WHERE IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE THE STRAW AFTER GERMINATION.
